My Composition - "Does Anybody Understand?"I'm taking a composition class this semester, and the major thing we're doing in there is composing. I have been working on this song for almost a year now (and it's not done yet). This is the write-up that's gonna appear in the program (plus or minus shit). April 28th, 8PM, Recital Hall - if you're on the College of Charleston campus on that day at that time, check it out! It'll be performed live for the first (and only) time. You should like it. I'll try to post a recording of it up on here when the time comes.I've been on this Earth for the last 20 years. I'm currently a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and possibly majoring in Music - I haven't decided yet. The underlying meanings of "Does Anybody Understand?" are very personal. Imagine this. There's a guy who is often misunderstood - not intentionally of course. He merely hasn't developed conventional social skills. So the small amount of friends he does have/make aren't just there as fashion accessories (as the majority of people his age use them as), they mean something to him. Whenever he encounters someone who understands him, everything is happy-go-lucky; however, when he encounters not only people who often misunderstand him, but also the everyday monotony of life, everything is grey. All the overall feelings this guy goes through as a result of the previously described situation are exemplified in this piece. As you listen, you'll easily be able to hear when this guy is in a good mood vs. a bad mood. I hope you enjoy it. ¶1:46 PM e-mail me (0) comments (0) commentsBack To Blog top September 2002 / October 2002 / November 2002 / December 2002 / January 2003 / February 2003 / March 2003 / April 2003 / May 2003 / June 2003 / July 2003 / August 2003 / September 2003 / October 2003 / November 2003 / December 2003 / January 2004 / February 2004 / March 2004 / April 2004 / May 2004 / June 2004 / July 2004 / August 2004 / September 2004 / October 2004 / November 2004 / December 2004 / January 2005 / February 2005 / March 2005 / April 2005 / May 2005 / June 2005 / July 2005 / August 2005 / September 2005 / October 2005 / November 2005 / December 2005 / January 2006 / February 2006 / March 2006 / April 2006 / May 2006 / August 2006 / October 2006 / December 2006 / April 2007 / August 2007 / September 2007 / November 2007 / January 2008 / February 2008 / March 2008 / April 2008 /
